Who we are
This website, civisight.tech, is operated by CiviSight, Wilson Business Park, Block Delta, 2nd Floor, Wilson Airport, Nairobi, Kenya (P.O. Box 1081-00517, Nairobi). CiviSight is the data controller for the processing described here.
What this site collects
Server logs. Our hosting provider records the IP address, time, requested page and browser type of every visit, as all web servers do, to keep the site running and secure. These logs are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify you.
Analytics, only if you allow it. With your consent we use Yandex Metrica, an analytics service provided by Yandex LLC, to understand how the site is used. When enabled it sets cookies (including _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad and _ym_visorc) and collects your approximate location (from your IP address), device and browser details, the pages you view, the links you click, and, through its Webvisor feature, a recording of your mouse movements, scrolling and clicks on the page. This data is processed on Yandex's servers, which are located in Russia, under Yandex's privacy policy. Analytics is switched off until you choose "Allow" in the cookie banner.
What we do not collect. The site has no forms and no user accounts. If you email or call us, we use your details only to answer you.
Legal basis
Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent, as required by the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and, for visitors in the European Economic Area, the GDPR and the ePrivacy rules.
Your choices and rights
- You can allow or decline analytics in the cookie banner, and change your choice at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer. Declining does not affect how the site works.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Yandex's opt-out add-on.
- You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Write to us at the postal address above or by telephone on 0726 801 929. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner of Kenya.
Changes
If we change the tools this site uses, we will update this notice and ask for your consent again where required.
